California Officer Stabbed Multiple Times During Domestic Call (Original Video)

«On July 27, 2025, at approximately 3:11 p.m., Cathedral City Police Officer Marcus Ayala responded to a 911 call reporting a verbal disturbance between family members at a residence. As he approached the front door, the suspect, Juan Francisco Sosa Jr., rushed at him armed with a knife.
Sosa had an active felony warrant out of Riverside County for robbery, which may have contributed to his aggressive response. During the struggle, Sosa stabbed Ayala in the back at least five times, and Sosa’s mother attempted to intervene by grabbing the knife, but Sosa switched hands and continued the attack.
Despite the injuries, Officer Ayala managed to take Sosa to the ground, gain control of his hand, and disarm him using his training and quick thinking. Additional officers arrived shortly after, assisting in securing the scene.
Sosa was arrested on site without further incident and charged with 664/187 PC (attempted murder on a peace officer).
