On August 20, 2025, a violent incident occurred in Quevedo, Los Ríos province, Ecuador. A 21-year-old motorcyclist, Michael Stiven Cotto Castillo, was fatally shot on the La Esperanza road near the Pimocha parish in Babahoyo.
